Jags Unscripted: Chris Forde on Student Organizations

My name is Christopher Forde. I do several things here at Augusta University. This year, I was building manager for the
Jaguar Student Activities Center, or the JSAC, in our Student Union, I served as the
president–outgoing now–of the Jaguar Production CREW. I’ve been involved in a
lot since I transferred here to Augusta University. Their number one go-to,
their number one phrase was “student engagement,” so I was like “I’ve got to go and
get it. I see the opportunity here and I just need to go and take it.” I ended up
at Club Fest, ended up signing my name on SGA, Student Government Association, and
then from there, I mean, it just rocketshipped off. Student Government
Association kind of led me to being involved with The CREW. I started off as
the collaborations director, bringing different experiences to campus. We
try to put on events or create experiences for students from all walks
of life. We want to see what the real world has, and what ideas that people may
have to share with us. We get a lot of that from CREW. Over the years,
I’ve learned that everybody’s perspective is different. Through my
interactions with different people, I know how to kind of navigate the ups and
downs that may happen in my life, and if I can instill that passion, of like
making those connections, into different individuals here on campus,
I feel like the university will thrive. And I mean, it was that aspect
of leadership that definitely drove me to being who I am today. My name is Chris Forde. I am a political science major. Augusta University class of 2019.
