We care about our world and the people who live in it … Many organizations are involved in building a better world: NGOs, donors, governments, companies…. They work in many countries, on many projects, and a lot of money is involved. This generates a great deal of valuable data, all contained in different databases. But… what if all these organizations opened up and shared their valuable data? We believe that making it available to everyone will lead to: -better understanding
through knowledge sharing -clear definition of strategies and goals -more effective targeting of spendings
and of budget planning We believe that co-creation leads to transformation. Now… some organizations are already opening up … …the ‘open development’ movement has started. Cordaid, as one of the largest Dutch international NGO’s, has embraced ‘open development’ since 2013. We opened our project data …and implemented the globally accepted IATI standard. Our data can now be compared and used by others. As more stakeholders open up and share their data, Its information becomes more valuable. But data by itself means nothing … We make it meaningful through storytelling,
brought to life through photos, showing real projects that are regularly updated. So everyone can see what we do… where we do it… and how we do it… and join the open development movement by co-creating to build flourishing communities. CARE.ACT.SHARE.LIKE CORDAID.
